I often tell people who I pray for to declare the word of God over themselves consistently and by faith believe that if they do that, they’ll receive a miracle healing.  Since most people I tell to do this, either give up or dont take my word to heart, I don’t hear back many success stories but I have heard back a few success stories of Christians who have declared healing scripture over their body consistently and in faith and have experience healing in their body as a result.

In Matthew chapter 9 verse 18 it talks about a man who was a ruler who came up to Jesus and worshiped him and told Jesus that his daughter was dead but that if Jesus cam and laid his hand upon her, she would live. It goes on to say in verse 25  He went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose. Also in verse 21 a women who had an issue of blood for twelve years said within herself, If I may touch his garment, I shall be whole. Jesus said to her, daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole.

These are two cases in which declarations were made and miracles followed. In the first case, the man made a declaration saying, if you lay your hand upon my daughter she’ll live. And what did Jesus do, laid his hand upon her and she lived. We see the same thing happening with the lady who had an issue of blood. Only she made a declaration in her heart saying, if I touch the hem of his garment, I’ll be healed. So the declaration was made in her heart, and Jesus told her what healed her. He said, Daughter be of good comfort, “your faith” has made thee whole. What type of faith did she exhibit? The same kind the ruler exhibited, that is, making a faith based declaration.

I say all this to say that, if you have been prayed over but have not experienced a miracle, then declare one healing scripture over yourself over and over and over no matter how long it takes. And if you believe the word of God enough to the point where as soon as you experience a symptom of pain or sickness, the first thing that comes of your mouth is not “ouch” its the word of God, then you shall be made whole.

What happens when a farmer plants seeds into fertile grown then waters those seeds? Well after a certain amount of time the farmer begins to look for the harvest so that he can gather what he has sown. Jesus said in Mark 4:26 “And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come. It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth. But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it”. So whenever someone lays hands on the sick and speaks the word of God into that person (if have faith grain mustard seed speak to mountain….) both persons should begin to look for the harvest, that is, expect the manifestation of healing in that persons body.

The bible declares in Isaiah 55:11 “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it”. And in Jeremiah 1:12 “Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it”. So when you send the word of the Lord out, understand that the word of the Lord will never return back unto Him void and it will accomplish that which it sent out. The prophet Ezekiel was commanded of the Lord in Ezekiel 37 to prophesy over bones. The bones came together, the flesh and the skin covered the bones then finally breathe came back onto the bodies!! Wow!!!

Where am I going with all of this? I am trying to help you understand that when you prophesy or command as the Lord has commanded He will back you up. Your words are not in vain if you mix them with a little faith. The Lord is the one doing all the work all you have to do is speak it and then expect it, thus look for the harvest. The word of God is like a seed, you plant the seed then the Lord will give you a harvest. But God needs your voice and your faith to do it!!!!!! 1 Corinthians 3:7-9 states plainly “So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building. some plant seeds some water God provide increase” The part where it says “we are labors together with God” is key!! God wants to show Himself mighty through us!! So speak the word, believe and LOOK for the harvest.

Out of all the healing training programs I’ve studied, none of these taught me how to really deal with the doubt. They all simply said, don’t doubt. But how do you do this?

The bible declares in Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”.  James 1:6 – 8 “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways”. So whats all this mean? What does it mean to have rock solid faith? How do you achieve such a thing? The answer is simple, get rid of your doubt!!!

Okay, okay, you’re a little upset with me now right? You’re wondering how do I get rid of my doubt? I mean its not every day you see tumors shrinking at the sound of …IN JESUS NAME!! You obviously need a whole lotta faith to believe that even a pimple would shrink and disappear at the sound  a believer uttering  “In Jesus name”. The bible defines faith in Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”. Lets suppose that you were told to drive a car with no engine. Getting in the car and trying to start it would be faith. Its simply taking God at his word despite what the laws of physics, history, economics, or medicine have to say about the situation in front of you.

Jesus said in Mark 9:23 “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth”. So if you believe then all things are possible for you because you’re in Christ and you’re doing the will of God. Your problem is that you still keep doubting. The first thing to do is to become childlike. All things are possible to children, literally they’ll believe anything like a some big jolly old guy goes around in a big red suit every Christmas eve…ah nevermind. Become like a child!! The second thing you need to do is fight off doubt. The bible says in 2 Corinthians 10:5 “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” So when that little thought that comes in your mind says, “she’s still in pain, or that cancer is still there, how can an amputee grow an arm” you simply respond to that thought by saying  in your mind “all the pain is gone in Jesus name, that cancer has left in Jesus name, that amputees arm is growing right now in Jesus name”.

Ephesians 1:19-22 “And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church”. Colossians 1:16-17 says “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist”. Taken together in order to deal with doubt you must first become childlike an know that all things are possible to him that believes. One must bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ — oh no you don’t bad thought!!!  Furthermore know that Jesus is the head of every type of principality, power and ANYTHING THAT HAS A NAME (knowing is still childlike since children believe that everything mommy says is true). Does cancer have a name? Lastly, all things were created BY HIM AND FOR HIM. So EVERY creature was created by Him and for His purposes. And we know that all things have their being in Him. So cancer has no being without Jesus. Jesus is a good God, do you think His purpose is to allow that cancer to have its being in a person? No!  So the spirit of cancer is there for Church to kick it out, hence creation serving His purpose.

Person receiving healing: “Wow, all the pain is gone. Hallelujah Praise God. Thank you”

Prayer warrior: “Wow you’re welcome. God is amazing. Praise Jesus”

Narrator: After a few short days of prayer, the person who receive the healing was feeling great. Then all of a sudden the pain started coming back. The person who received healing started feeling distraught again. Like maybe God doesn’t want to heal  them because He is upset with them.

Person who received healing: “Hey remember when you prayed for me the other day?”

Prayer warrior: “Yah I remember. How you feeling?”

Person who received healing: “Well, I’m kinda in pain again. Does God not want me healed?”

This is a common conversation that comes up when ministering healing to the sick and so its important to discuss this topic. In Mathew 12:40-50 takes about an evil and adulterous generation seeking after a sign. He mentions how the people of Ninevah repented at the warnings of Jonah. How the queen of the south traveled very far just to hear the wisdom of Solomon. Then he goes on to say that when an unclean spirit goes out of a man….he finds it empty, swept, and garnished…and that the last state of that man is WORSE than the first. Jesus then says even so it shall be also unto this wicked generation: what could he possibly mean by this?

Lets take the story of Jonah. Basically God was going to judge them for their wickedness. He sent Jonah to prophesy unto them to tell them if they don’t stop it, that God will pour out judgement upon that nation. Well they repented and God did not pour out judgement upon them (Jonah 3:8-10). Now lets look at the queen of the south who traveled to hear the wisdom of Solomn. Obviously Solomn was a wise man, and he wrote the book of Proverbs which contains much Godly wisdom in it. So it is no coincidence that Jesus said in Matthew 12:50 “For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother”. The queen of the south wanted to hear God’s wisdom from Solomn. So those who followed after God’s wisdom (His word) are those Jesus was referring to when he called them his brother, sister etc.

Lets examine the same verses in Luke 11:24-36 so that we can gain more clarity. Again Jesus talks about when an unclean spirit goes out of a man … but lets pause and examine Luke 11:28 where Jesus says “Yea rather, blessed are they what hear the word of God, and keep it”. This certain agrees with what Jesus said in Matthew 12:50.

Now lets  move further along down the verse. Jesus talks about Jonah again, then the queen of the south. But whats interesting is when what Jesus says in verse 35-36 where Jesus states “take heed that the light which in thee be not darkness. If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no park dark, the whole shall be full of light..” So what’s interesting about this is that even if someone is saved, can contain parks of darkness (be it fear, anger, worry) because our soul (mind, will, emotions) is either thinking or acting like God or the Devil.

Whats the point of all this?  Jesus said in John 8:12 “I am the light of the world: he that FOLLEWETH me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life”. So following (walk, talk, act, think) after Jesus (who is the word of God) is walking in the light. Sometimes sin can cause sickness. John 5:14 “Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee”. This certainly concedes with what Jesus said in Luke 11:24 & Matthew 12:43 where Jesus talks about people being an a WORSE STATE after an unclean spirit goes out of them and comes back. So once you are prayed for and healed of that sickness, don’t get back into the same sin (fear, anger, anxiety, self hatred, bitterness) that got you there in the first place. Unclean spirits cannot inhabit a place that has been filled (James 4:7).  The people of Ninevah repented and nothing ended up happening to them. The queen of the south wanted to hear Godly wisdom from Solomn. So follow after Jesus  in word & deed and your body will be full of light and  Satan would have no right to put sickness on you. If he does, he has no right, so tell him “Oh no you don’t” and eventually the devil will flee from you because you have submitted that part of your life to God.

Ever struggle with lower back pain? Or battle upper back pain? In the former case, it could be a case that one of your legs are shorter than the other. Whereas in the latter case, its possible that one of your arms are shorter than the other.
There are two types of leg length discrepancies:
  • Structural discrepancy – when either your the thigh (femur) or of different lengths or the shin (tibia)
  • Functional discrepancy – occurs above the legs (assumption legs are of equal length) where the hips are uneven

In either case, lower back pain can be the result.

Watch how easily Jesus heals this condition:

Some people struggle with praying for certain diseases because they feel as if the disease they are praying for was either never prayed for (by someone who knows how to pray for the sick as Jesus did) or cases of that disease actually being healed were rare.

Here are a few tips that may help you when praying for the sick:

i) Identity for the problem – Lets admit it, you’re thinking that you’re the only one who has ever prayed for that disease. Like even Jesus is sitting on the edge of his throne saying, “how’s he/she going to build up enough faith to pray for this one?”. Well understand this, your problem is vision. You can’t think of anyone in history praying for this disease and actually seeing it healed (not even Jesus) so you feel as if you’re alone and you can’t build up enough faith to move the mountain.

ii) Go to the bible – John 5:19 “Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise”. Jesus had to use vision when healing the sick, so why shouldn’t you?.

iii) Example to prove point ii. Okay lets be real. Short legs growing out is kinda weird right? If you never seen anyone do this before, do you really believe you could do it if a group of atheist told you to do it? Come on be honest, you’ve definitely watched your fair share of Todd White videos which made you say hey, I can do that too!!!  So vision helps jump start your faith.

iv) Jesus set the precedent: Jesus healed every type of disease or ailment you’ll ever encounter. So “see” him doing it, and then pray for the darn disease!! Okay, okay, you need me to explain this point right? Sure, so lets take some common diseases people face and link them to a more general genre of disease Jesus healed.

  • Multiple Sclerosis – Crippled Woman: Luke 13:10-17
  • Arthritis – Man with withered hand: Matthew 12:10-13
  • Cancer/Tumor – Man with dropsy (edema): Luke 14:1-4
  • Amputee- Servant ear cut off: Luke 22-51
  • Wheel chair bound – Man with palsy: Matthew 9:2-7

Okay you get my point now. See Jesus doing the miracle then do it. After all, the bible does say in Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God”

Praying for the sick and seeing results can be a difficult thing. Most people who learn how to pray for the sick as Jesus demonstrated (not as Churches teach or demonstrate) see results but sometimes those results are hit and miss.

Here are a couple of strategies that may help you pray for the sick more effectively and see many more healed:

1) Believe what you say, fight off doubt.

2) Know that your words have actual tangible effect on the world. Studies show that people who use curse words tend to make people upset and people who use pleasant words tend to make people happy or more relaxed. So your words do have a tangible affect on the world. There understand mountains actually hear you and obey you (when your words are mixed with faith in what Jesus said about moving mountains).

3) Jesus only gave two ways to become great in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3-4 where Jesus basically says that you have to become as little child to enter into the kingdom of heaven, which means, you have to believe that all things are possible with God. So stop analyzing and humble yourself as a child then you’ll be great.

4) The last ingredient is given in Matthew 23:11-12 and in Luke 9:46-48 where Jesus tells the disciples that whoever becomes the most childlike, the most humble, and serves the most will be the greatest. So if you want to be great at praying for the sick the way Jesus did, make sure you’re praying for a lot of people, hence serving the most!!

Many Christians do not believe that healing is for today, or some believe that its not always Gods will to heal. If you are one of those who hold on to either of these views, then consider the following:

Wasn’t Jesus the physical manifestation of God in the flesh? Jesus is God revealed in fleshly form (John 10:30, John 14:8-9). So his words were God the Fathers words. Jesus paid a price for healing (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24, Matthew 8:16-17). Jesus never denied anyone of healing back then (Matthew 4:23, Acts 10:38).Finally we know that Jesus never changes (Hebrews 13:8). So if you claim that healing isn’t for today, or its not always God’s will to heal, you’re effectively claiming that Jesus changed (since he never denied anyone of healing back then, how could he now?). Conclusion, the church is doing something wrong.
