Every once in a while a believer will pray for the sick and nothing seems to be happening. After several commands of “GO…IN JESUS NAME” the person responds with a mere “sorry…there is no change”. I believe that there is a root issue that God wants to deal with AT THAT TIME before He manifest the healing. Not to say that God doesn’t want to heal them or He is using this sickness to teach them, but He’d rather they address the issue before He manifest the healing (Note: most Christians will pray for physical healing and ignore soul issues which is probably why God prefers to deal with soul issues first before the physical healing). After all, III John 1:2 says “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth”. So God wants our soul to prosper and our health to proper. No point in being healed of heart disease if you’re always afraid to go to bed at night because of the spirit of fear. Of course there are those who will disagree with me. They might say, well Jesus didn’t do that. The closes thing Jesus did to that was say “… go and sin no more less a worse thing happen to you” AFTER He healed someone. They also might put forth that the goodness of God leads man to repentance.

Those who propose these arguments are overlooking a few key points. Jesus demonstrated God’s love despite mans sin. So everything Jesus did had no condition on it whatsoever because God wanted to show man His grace and love in the face of man’s sin (Romans 5:20). Now times are different, God requires every man everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30-31). So essentially, God demonstrated His goodness at the cross, now the only to do now is to REPENT. Furthermore, God’s goodness isn’t the only thing that leads man to repentance. 2 Corinthians 7:10 says “For GODLY SORROW WORKETH REPENTANCE to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death”. Hence, telling a person, “hey, you should forgive that person who molested you” is for that victims salvation (Matthew 6:15, Mark 11:26) and well-being even though it might make them upset or sorrowful to do so. Now some might say, well you don’t have to forgive in order to go to heaven, all you have to do is “believe” (see my note John 3:16 explained) and you’ll go to heaven regardless. To those I say, Judas Iscariot believed in Jesus, you think he went to heaven?

Stress is defined by Hans Selye as a “physical, mental, or emotional strain or tension” or “a condition or feeling experienced when a person perceives that demands exceed the personal and social resources the individual is able to mobilize (”.

When someones feels stress, the body releases adrenaline and cortisol, speeding up the heart rate, slowing down the digestive system, and shunning blood flow to major muscle groups. Thus a person who experiences chronic stress, or someone who feels stressed all the time causes the body to experience a release of adrenaline, cortisol, sped up heart rate etcetera on a consistent basis. This causes serious health problems to develop in a person.

There are a variety of health conditions that have been linked to stress such as:

  • depression
  • ulcers
  • high blood pressure
  • hair loss
  • heart attack
  • stroke
  • immune system disturbances
  • rheumatoid arthritis
  • multiple sclerosis
  • atopic dermatitis

No one can argue that medical science has not found links to certain diseases caused by stress. So is it a stretch for us to say that other negative emotions such as (fear, anxiety, self-hatred, bitterness) causes health defect?. Hello guys, bitterness is not a happy feeling. Neither you nor your body goes around looking for someone to feel bitterness towards. If you say you do, you’re a liar. In fact, God made you to feel happy, cheerful, and loved.  The bible backs up these claims. Proverbs 17:22 “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones”. Question for all the atheist, doubters, and scientist out there. Do you think that its better for your health if you have a merry heart or are full of laughter? Is it pro-life to always be stressed out and full of anger? Eh emm…thats what I thought. In fact says science shows that laughter is a stress fighter since it reduces cortisol and adrenaline. It actually increases the number of healthy hormones like hormones like endorphins and neurotransmitters. claims  “laughter increases the number of antibody-producing cells and enhances the effectiveness of T cells. All this means a stronger immune system, as well as fewer physical effects of stress”. backs up  some of these claims.

In short — negative emotions attract demons! Demons are agents of opportunity. They have no body so they seek to manifest themselves in someone they can come into agreement with. If you constantly are stressed out, then you’ll attract a spirit(s) that will agree with you (Amos 3:3 “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”). Those spirits will manifest themselves as demons of disease (ulcer) and begin to destroy you. Satan’s objective after all is to destroy you. The bible says in Isaiah 26:3 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee”. After all, stress is basically a demand a person feels but cannot provide the resources for it. God knows you cannot do it yourself, He didn’t make you to do it yourself. Philippians 4:6 says “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God”. So give it God and cast that stress from you.

Person receiving healing: “Wow, all the pain is gone. Hallelujah Praise God. Thank you”

Prayer warrior: “Wow you’re welcome. God is amazing. Praise Jesus”

Narrator: After a few short days of prayer, the person who receive the healing was feeling great. Then all of a sudden the pain started coming back. The person who received healing started feeling distraught again. Like maybe God doesn’t want to heal  them because He is upset with them.

Person who received healing: “Hey remember when you prayed for me the other day?”

Prayer warrior: “Yah I remember. How you feeling?”

Person who received healing: “Well, I’m kinda in pain again. Does God not want me healed?”

This is a common conversation that comes up when ministering healing to the sick and so its important to discuss this topic. In Mathew 12:40-50 takes about an evil and adulterous generation seeking after a sign. He mentions how the people of Ninevah repented at the warnings of Jonah. How the queen of the south traveled very far just to hear the wisdom of Solomon. Then he goes on to say that when an unclean spirit goes out of a man….he finds it empty, swept, and garnished…and that the last state of that man is WORSE than the first. Jesus then says even so it shall be also unto this wicked generation: what could he possibly mean by this?

Lets take the story of Jonah. Basically God was going to judge them for their wickedness. He sent Jonah to prophesy unto them to tell them if they don’t stop it, that God will pour out judgement upon that nation. Well they repented and God did not pour out judgement upon them (Jonah 3:8-10). Now lets look at the queen of the south who traveled to hear the wisdom of Solomn. Obviously Solomn was a wise man, and he wrote the book of Proverbs which contains much Godly wisdom in it. So it is no coincidence that Jesus said in Matthew 12:50 “For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother”. The queen of the south wanted to hear God’s wisdom from Solomn. So those who followed after God’s wisdom (His word) are those Jesus was referring to when he called them his brother, sister etc.

Lets examine the same verses in Luke 11:24-36 so that we can gain more clarity. Again Jesus talks about when an unclean spirit goes out of a man … but lets pause and examine Luke 11:28 where Jesus says “Yea rather, blessed are they what hear the word of God, and keep it”. This certain agrees with what Jesus said in Matthew 12:50.

Now lets  move further along down the verse. Jesus talks about Jonah again, then the queen of the south. But whats interesting is when what Jesus says in verse 35-36 where Jesus states “take heed that the light which in thee be not darkness. If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no park dark, the whole shall be full of light..” So what’s interesting about this is that even if someone is saved, can contain parks of darkness (be it fear, anger, worry) because our soul (mind, will, emotions) is either thinking or acting like God or the Devil.

Whats the point of all this?  Jesus said in John 8:12 “I am the light of the world: he that FOLLEWETH me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life”. So following (walk, talk, act, think) after Jesus (who is the word of God) is walking in the light. Sometimes sin can cause sickness. John 5:14 “Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee”. This certainly concedes with what Jesus said in Luke 11:24 & Matthew 12:43 where Jesus talks about people being an a WORSE STATE after an unclean spirit goes out of them and comes back. So once you are prayed for and healed of that sickness, don’t get back into the same sin (fear, anger, anxiety, self hatred, bitterness) that got you there in the first place. Unclean spirits cannot inhabit a place that has been filled (James 4:7).  The people of Ninevah repented and nothing ended up happening to them. The queen of the south wanted to hear Godly wisdom from Solomn. So follow after Jesus  in word & deed and your body will be full of light and  Satan would have no right to put sickness on you. If he does, he has no right, so tell him “Oh no you don’t” and eventually the devil will flee from you because you have submitted that part of your life to God.

The medical community is clueless as to the etiology or causes of many diseases. Of course, we do not presume to know the causes of all disease but we do know that many incurable diseases may be the result of one of five things:

1) A separation from God and His Word

When we disobey God and His Word, there are consequences. The bible says in Ephesians 4:26 “Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:” Is it a coincidence that angry, raging people tend to have aneurysms, strokes, varicose veins?

2)  A separation from yourself, in that you fail to love yourself, feelings of worthlessness, guilt or self-hatred

The Word of God says in Galatians 4:6 “And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father”. And in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” So those who feel rejected or worthless fail to consider that God Almighty sends the Spirit of his Son (Jesus) to dwell into your heart. They also fail to consider that God thought you were worth so much to Him, that you were worth Him dieing for. Thus those who suffer from autoimmune diseases may struggle to see themselves as God sees them.

3) A separation from others, in the sense that one feels bitterness, hatred, envy, unforgiveness toward another

Those who struggle with breast cancer, arthritis, or osteoporosis may have bitterness in their heart towards another and this  may be the cause of their disease. In Proverbs 17:22 it says, “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones”.

4) Attack from Satan

Acts 10:38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” And Luke 13:11-16 “….And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?”

5) So the Glory of God might be made manifest in that person

John 9:2-3 “And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him”  Finally in John 11:4 “When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby”.

What is MS? MS is essentially an “autoimmune disease” by which the bodies immune system attacks the myelin or the fatty sheath that protects the nerve fibers in the central nervous system.

Lets explore the biblical reason for this disease and try to reconcile it with how science says the disease works. The bible says in Proverbs 23 “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:” Now ask someone who has MS, many of them have probably dealt with deep self-hatred problems. So if you hate yourself, you will become hate essentially according to Proverbs 23. A spirit of MS then agrees with you, and begins to manifest itself in you. So your body begins to turn on you because  of your deep self-hated towards yourself, hence an “autoimmune” disease. I believe this is the true “etiology” of MS. So contact us for prayer today and Jesus will set you free from MS!!!

When a mother tells her child, “eat your vegetables and drink your milk everyday” she is not only telling him to consume something that is pro-life, but she is also implicitly giving him a warning. That if he doesn’t eat his veggies or drink his milk, his body will not be healthy and he could have health complications. Well its sort of the same principle with with God. When Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:15 that if we fail to forgive others our heavenly Father will not forgives us. We know that the bible also says in Proverbs 17:22 “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones” also in Proverbs 15:30 “A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones”. Here we see that on the one hand, a crushed spirit or someone may have been hurt by someone and fails to forgive them ends up with dried up bones, while on the other hand those whose heart is joyful, they have healthy bones.

So ask someone who may have  Hodgkins Disease, Leukemia, or Breast Cancer if they have bitterness towards their father, or someone whose hurt them. If they (you do) do forgive that person, repent of it and lets get you free from that horrible disease!!
