When the Lord makes a promise, He makes a promise that He is both willing and able to fulfill. The only missing ingredient to the Lords promise is YOUR faith.

Recall what the word says about Mary (the mother of Jesus) in Luke 1:45 it says “And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her form the Lord”. The angel Gabriel had appeared unto Mary and told her that she would conceive a child even though she was a virgin. Mary actually believed the words of the Lord which came from the angel and so it was written of her that she would be blessed for her belief, that the Lord would perform His promise. But what happened when Gabriel appeared unto Zacharias and told him his wife would bare a son? Zacharias did not believe the word of God and focused more on his natural limitations whereby he said in Luke 1:18 “….I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years”. Since Zacharias did not believe the word of God he was made dumb for a season.

God must to honor His written word. When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness He didn’t respond with “well God just said I was the His beloved Son so I rebuke you Satan”. He responded with it is WRITTEN. The written word must be fulfilled. Numbers 14:28 says “Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you”. Speaking the written word in faith in the face of temptation, sickness, or disease is a form of warfare. After all,Gods written word is sharper than any two-edged sword. Paul also states in Ephesians 6:17 that the word of God is the sword of the Spirit. And just before that he says take the shield of FAITH. Thus faith + the word of God = successful warfare.

Whats my conclusion here? I’m saying that if you are sick, if you are diseased, if you are trusting God for break through in a situation understand that sometimes theres a time period between the Promise of God, your belief in the Word + plus your declaration of the Word and the actual performance of the word. So if you’re thinking about giving up, go back to what Hebrews 11:6 says “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that DILIGENTLY seek him”. The word diligent means: constant in effort to accomplish something; attentive and persistent in doing anything. Remember, Jesus wasn’t just tempted once then He got the victory He was at all points tempted.

Stress is defined by Hans Selye as a “physical, mental, or emotional strain or tension” or “a condition or feeling experienced when a person perceives that demands exceed the personal and social resources the individual is able to mobilize (stress.org)”.

When someones feels stress, the body releases adrenaline and cortisol, speeding up the heart rate, slowing down the digestive system, and shunning blood flow to major muscle groups. Thus a person who experiences chronic stress, or someone who feels stressed all the time causes the body to experience a release of adrenaline, cortisol, sped up heart rate etcetera on a consistent basis. This causes serious health problems to develop in a person.

There are a variety of health conditions that have been linked to stress such as:

  • depression
  • ulcers
  • high blood pressure
  • hair loss
  • heart attack
  • stroke
  • immune system disturbances
  • rheumatoid arthritis
  • multiple sclerosis
  • atopic dermatitis

No one can argue that medical science has not found links to certain diseases caused by stress. So is it a stretch for us to say that other negative emotions such as (fear, anxiety, self-hatred, bitterness) causes health defect?. Hello guys, bitterness is not a happy feeling. Neither you nor your body goes around looking for someone to feel bitterness towards. If you say you do, you’re a liar. In fact, God made you to feel happy, cheerful, and loved.  The bible backs up these claims. Proverbs 17:22 “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones”. Question for all the atheist, doubters, and scientist out there. Do you think that its better for your health if you have a merry heart or are full of laughter? Is it pro-life to always be stressed out and full of anger? Eh emm…thats what I thought. In fact says science shows that laughter is a stress fighter since it reduces cortisol and adrenaline. It actually increases the number of healthy hormones like hormones like endorphins and neurotransmitters. About.com claims  “laughter increases the number of antibody-producing cells and enhances the effectiveness of T cells. All this means a stronger immune system, as well as fewer physical effects of stress”. Webmd.com backs up  some of these claims.

In short — negative emotions attract demons! Demons are agents of opportunity. They have no body so they seek to manifest themselves in someone they can come into agreement with. If you constantly are stressed out, then you’ll attract a spirit(s) that will agree with you (Amos 3:3 “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”). Those spirits will manifest themselves as demons of disease (ulcer) and begin to destroy you. Satan’s objective after all is to destroy you. The bible says in Isaiah 26:3 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee”. After all, stress is basically a demand a person feels but cannot provide the resources for it. God knows you cannot do it yourself, He didn’t make you to do it yourself. Philippians 4:6 says “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God”. So give it God and cast that stress from you.
