What happens when a farmer plants seeds into fertile grown then waters those seeds? Well after a certain amount of time the farmer begins to look for the harvest so that he can gather what he has sown. Jesus said in Mark 4:26 “And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come. It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth. But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it”. So whenever someone lays hands on the sick and speaks the word of God into that person (if have faith grain mustard seed speak to mountain….) both persons should begin to look for the harvest, that is, expect the manifestation of healing in that persons body.

The bible declares in Isaiah 55:11 “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it”. And in Jeremiah 1:12 “Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it”. So when you send the word of the Lord out, understand that the word of the Lord will never return back unto Him void and it will accomplish that which it sent out. The prophet Ezekiel was commanded of the Lord in Ezekiel 37 to prophesy over bones. The bones came together, the flesh and the skin covered the bones then finally breathe came back onto the bodies!! Wow!!!

Where am I going with all of this? I am trying to help you understand that when you prophesy or command as the Lord has commanded He will back you up. Your words are not in vain if you mix them with a little faith. The Lord is the one doing all the work all you have to do is speak it and then expect it, thus look for the harvest. The word of God is like a seed, you plant the seed then the Lord will give you a harvest. But God needs your voice and your faith to do it!!!!!! 1 Corinthians 3:7-9 states plainly “So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building. some plant seeds some water God provide increase” The part where it says “we are labors together with God” is key!! God wants to show Himself mighty through us!! So speak the word, believe and LOOK for the harvest.

Praying for the sick and seeing results can be a difficult thing. Most people who learn how to pray for the sick as Jesus demonstrated (not as Churches teach or demonstrate) see results but sometimes those results are hit and miss.

Here are a couple of strategies that may help you pray for the sick more effectively and see many more healed:

1) Believe what you say, fight off doubt.

2) Know that your words have actual tangible effect on the world. Studies show that people who use curse words tend to make people upset and people who use pleasant words tend to make people happy or more relaxed. So your words do have a tangible affect on the world. There understand mountains actually hear you and obey you (when your words are mixed with faith in what Jesus said about moving mountains).

3) Jesus only gave two ways to become great in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3-4 where Jesus basically says that you have to become as little child to enter into the kingdom of heaven, which means, you have to believe that all things are possible with God. So stop analyzing and humble yourself as a child then you’ll be great.

4) The last ingredient is given in Matthew 23:11-12 and in Luke 9:46-48 where Jesus tells the disciples that whoever becomes the most childlike, the most humble, and serves the most will be the greatest. So if you want to be great at praying for the sick the way Jesus did, make sure you’re praying for a lot of people, hence serving the most!!
